What are we praying for?

If we do ask, seek or knock what is our motive? What are we asking, seeking or knocking for? What are we trying to obtain? What are we praying for? Are we praying to accumulate riches (Greed)? Are we praying for a spouse? If so why? Is it to satisfy our lustful desires or is it because we long to love someone and share our life with? Should we observe and study ourselves. Why do I want this? Why am I asking for this? What in me wants this? Will this better myself and those around me? What will happen if I obtain what my greed or lust desires? How would it benefit humanity if we were rich? Are we positive that being rich would benefit our suffering humanity? How do we know? Are we sure we wouldn’t become more greedy? Are we sure that being rich would save the world? How do I feel when I have money now? Do I share? Do I donate to help others? What affect has money had on humanity thus far? Are we sure that money has made a better world? Will being rich save me and help me become a better person? So what kinds of things should we be praying for? Should we pray for the welfare of others? Should we pray for help in order to become a better person? Does Divinity care about money, lust, and our desires? How about our physical and psychological welfare? How about our spiritual progress?
